Seven

Dedicated to Kiarostami and Ozu

In 2016, we lost one of our greatest filmmakers.  In an effort to parse this, we picked up a camera and started shooting, even before we knew what we were trying to capture.  What resulted was Seven.  It's a film constructed to pay homage to Kiarostami's seminal film Five, which itself paid honour to Japanese film master Yasujiro Ozu.

Filmed in Toronto, this film examines the city from seven different fixed positions, allowing the audience to see both the banality and the beauty of a city gripped by winter.
